February is Pet Dental Health Month

          Dental disease in dogs and cats is VERY COMMON.  By the age of two, 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have some level of periodontal disease or infection of the gums.  This can lead to problems with the heart, liver, kidneys, and other organs.

If you are unsure if your pet needs a dental cleaning we can review our doctors notes from your pets most recent well-pet examination.  If it has been longer than one year since the last exam, we recommend updating you pet's annual well-pet visit (with any recommended vaccinations); a dental exam is included in this visit.
